If you've got chores to do you better get them done early because the lineup for todays sports schedule will keep you rooted to the couch. Whether you are a fan of hoops, baseball, football, golf, racing, hockey or whatever today is your day.
The NBA has a quadruple header to day with four awesome games going on. I can't even pick one as the headliner. My main interest will be Hornets /Mavs later this evening. My prediction is that Chris Paul (my MVP) will right the ship and get this important win on the road. Look for the game to be a little chippier as they say after the hard foul by Erick Dampier on Paul at the end of the last game.
As for the NFL Draft I was really surprised by my teams first pick. The Steelers took a running back first and I surely thought that they were going to fill their most glaring need and take an O-Lineman with the 23rd pick. I guess they were surprised that Rashard Mendenhall was still available at that time. I am excited though because now they have the one two punch that seems to be the trend these days.
As for hockey what can I say about my Pittsburgh Penguins. That first game against the Rangers sent fans through the full range of emotions. Down 3-0, I was hoping to at least see a good fight between Georges Laraque and Colton Orr but it turned out the Penguins gave a better reason to cheer. What an unbeleivable comeback.
Is anyone else tired of hearing the opposing coaches talk about Sidney Crosby flopping. That penalty call on Martin Straka was so obvious that it had to be called. If you are a hockey fan you know that referees tend to sit on their whistels near the end of games especilly when it is tied. Now that the Penguins are up watch what kind of play Sean Avery comes out with. Avery the dirtiest player in the NHL as voted by his peers. I'll bet coach Tom Renney stops his whining about dirty play.
