Penguins

Detroit looks to be the hands down best team in hockey. The Penguins can't generate anything. As a Penguin fan it has been a miserable two games to watch.

Big Brown is still gonna win. Don't beleive the stories about his hoof. He is fine.

The Celtics are soft. The Pistons are old. The Lakers need to stay focused. The Spurs need the Lakers to be unfocused.

Phil Jackson just complained to TNT at the end of the 1st period about the officials. Here's to having enough money to not care about paying the fine.

Finals Set

Well the Stanley Cup Final is set. Pens vs. Wings. Two very good teams. It will be a heck of a series. I can't see anyone beating the Penguins but I am completely biased so I'll just say I can't wait to watch!

ARod is back watch out American League. He could be the spark the Yanks need. Of course he can't help with the pitching. They need Posada back so bad from both sides of the team(offense and defense). Maybe he jist works a little magic with the pitchers. I mean the guy has four world series rings.

Don't beleive the hype in Casino Drive. Big Brown is gonna dust him like all the others. THE MAN has to do this kind of marketing to get some money on some other horse. You can't make no money on the overwhelming favorite unless you're willing to bet an enormous amount. And why straight bet on any other horse. Big Brown, Big Brown, Big Brown!

I Told Ya

Big Brown is a monster! That's what the jockey on the second or third place horse called him. I tried to tell you from the beginning. Well after the Derby it was pretty predictable wasn't it? Make sure you and everybody you know is in front of the TV in three weeks cause history will be made at the Belmont Stakes.

How about them Celtics? The Cavs almost beat them and I still think the Cavs are grossly undermanned. The team out of the East will be easy pickins' for the West champ. You heard me right. The Cavs were all Lebron. It is not enough to win a championship. That team needs another scorer on the level of a Pau Gasol or a Paul Pierce or even a David West. Dump Ben Wallace he is played out. As for the Celtics you can't play to the level of your competition and expect to be the champs. You need to take it to another level. Start by winning a road game. The Lakers on the other hand have the look of a team on a mission. Going into Utah and winning was huge. Watch out for LA.

The Penguins appear to be unstoppable when they want. Two lackluster games in these playoffs have led to two losses. Don't give the Rangers and Flyers any credit for beating the Penguins once each in their respective series. If the Flightless Birds would have just stayed focused they would be undefeated.

I am going to see the Yankees at the Stadium for the first time ever in June. I hope my impending visit isn't jinxing them.

Gettin' Caught Up

Lots has happened since the last time I blogged. The Penguins are kicking the Flyers tail all over the ice. The are beating them at the physical game and on the scoreboard. It couldn't be happening to a better team.

The Cavs, Jazz, and Spurs have showed a little life and are making their series respectable. Don't like to see the games getting so physical. That's not how basketball during the season was played but now it seems that every game there is a hard foul with or without ejections. Clean it up boys. Here's hoping that the best player in the game, Kobe Bryant is doing a lot better and can play 100%.

This will be the year for the Triple Crown to be won. If you caught my blog before the Kentucky Derby than you know that I correctly picked Big Brown to win the race. Now I am willing to go so far as to say that he will absolutely win the Triple Crown. So if you are looking to bet and win then you are going to have to pick an exacta or trifecta cause nobody is beating Big Brown.

How about my Pittsburgh Pirates and the Florida Marlins. The Pirates are on a 6 game winning streak and the Marlins have the best record in baseball.

Back in the Saddle

Aside from the tragedy at the Derby on Sunday it was a good weekend to watch some sports. The horse I predicted, Big Brown did win the race. And now I am willing to say that barring any unforseen circumstances, He will be the first Triple Crown winner in what? 30 years. Aside from Eight Belles he beat every other horse by 10 to 12 lengths. It's OVER!

My Pittsburgh Penguins moved on to the next round with an overtime win in game 5 over the NY Rangers. Evgeni Malkin should be the league MVP and he could be a contender for the Finals MVP if they make it that far.

The NBA Playoffs are really shaping up now that some of the pretenders have been dispatched to look for mid round draft picks. Cavs/Celtics looks like a great series. Can the big 3 stop Lebron? I think so. Kobe is unstoppable, sorry Jazz. Detroit/Orlando could get physical especially now that I just watched the end of game 2 and the Pistons are up 2-0. The best series of the playoffs so far is the Spurs/Hornets. Hornets won the first game at home which could be a wake up call for the Spurs or theses Hornets could be for real. Right now the Spurs are up one at the half of game 2. Go Hornets!

I'm going to watch the game.

Asleep at the Wheel

Haven't published in a while, trying to change the layout of the blog unsuccessfully. I'll figure it out.

The Pens played an uninspired game last night. My prediction is that they come out on Sunday like their rear ends are on fire. Game. Set. Match.

The 76ers gave the Pistons more of a tusssle than I expected. Still the Pistons move on but don't expect big things from them this year they are too old and worn out.

If you like betting on the derby take Big Brown. He will win and it won't be close. At 3-1 you can still make a little bit of money. Don't take a chance on a longshot cause it ain't happening.

Awesome Sunday Lineup

If you've got chores to do you better get them done early because the lineup for todays sports schedule will keep you rooted to the couch. Whether you are a fan of hoops, baseball, football, golf, racing, hockey or whatever today is your day.

The NBA has a quadruple header to day with four awesome games going on. I can't even pick one as the headliner. My main interest will be Hornets /Mavs later this evening. My prediction is that Chris Paul (my MVP) will right the ship and get this important win on the road. Look for the game to be a little chippier as they say after the hard foul by Erick Dampier on Paul at the end of the last game.

As for the NFL Draft I was really surprised by my teams first pick. The Steelers took a running back first and I surely thought that they were going to fill their most glaring need and take an O-Lineman with the 23rd pick. I guess they were surprised that Rashard Mendenhall was still available at that time. I am excited though because now they have the one two punch that seems to be the trend these days.

As for hockey what can I say about my Pittsburgh Penguins. That first game against the Rangers sent fans through the full range of emotions. Down 3-0, I was hoping to at least see a good fight between Georges Laraque and Colton Orr but it turned out the Penguins gave a better reason to cheer. What an unbeleivable comeback.

Is anyone else tired of hearing the opposing coaches talk about Sidney Crosby flopping. That penalty call on Martin Straka was so obvious that it had to be called. If you are a hockey fan you know that referees tend to sit on their whistels near the end of games especilly when it is tied. Now that the Penguins are up watch what kind of play Sean Avery comes out with. Avery the dirtiest player in the NHL as voted by his peers. I'll bet coach Tom Renney stops his whining about dirty play.
