Watching a lot of baseball the last couple of days. I have that package from the cable company where I can watch all the games every night. Since my Pittsburgh Pirates are usually mathematically eliminated by the end of April, it comes in handy.
I'm one of those fantasy baseball guys so I flip around so I can watch my pitchers pitch and my batters bat. This usually goes on until I am mathematically eliminated from my fantasy league somewhere around May. Then it's all about watching good baseball.
My picks for the playoffs are as follows:AL East-Red Sox, AL Central-Cleveland, the AL West-Seattle, and the wild card will be the Yankees (to much talent to keep out). In the National League East I like the Phillies, in the NL Central I'll take the Cubs, and the NL West I like the Diamondbacks with the Mets getting the wild card.
The game's coming on I gotta go!

First Game
The first game is about to start over in Japan at 6:05AM. I'll get to see about ten minutes before I go to work. Don't like that the Red Sox and A's play these games and then come back to continue playing spring training games but I'll take what I can get. I'm looking forward to a very exciting season.
I am attending a game at Yankee Stadium this summer for the first time. I had to get to the most famous ballpark before they tore it down. They play Toronto in June so that will be cool. I've been to Fenway, old Cleveland, the old Tiger stadium, Atlanta-Fulton County, Three Rivers, Jacobs, Camden Yards, PNC Park, and Skydome. There is still alot that I would like to see and Wrigley moves to the top of the list now. While I am in New York the Mets are out of town but I will try to get over to see Shea before they tear it down.
I will make my predictions in an upcoming post and one thing I will never discuss in my blog is steroids. I am completely sick of hearing about that.

Busy, Busy, Busy
In the middle of all the traditional holiday running around. The Pitt Panthers lost last night an the Penguins won. I can live with that. Looking orward to catching a little NBA action today or tonight. If the Lakers can get healthy all at once, then that is who I like out of the West. I don't think anybody can beat the Celtics in the East especially in a best of seven series. The Pistons weren't good enough last year and they didn,t upgrade any for this year so don't even start with that. As for Cleveland, Lebron is the best player in the East and he can carry them far but that team needs another scorer so bad it's unbeleivable. Sczerbiak ain't the answer. It's like the management for Cleveland doesn't know what it is doing. Ben Wallace is a decent pick up on the defensive end. Houston was a flash in the pan. San Antonio has a great chance. They always get properly motivated around this time of year.

Easter Weekend
I'm off the weekend and have a lot of plans. Friday will be my daughter's 10th birthday party with the family. Saturday we will spend with the inlaws for Easter dinner. Sunday we will go to my Dad's house for another dinner.
All the while I will be trying to sneak in a couple of basketball games on television. Since I am a from Pittsburgh I am a fan of the Pitt Panthers. I don't think they will go all the way like Bobby Knight does but I'll be rooting for them. As of this post they already made it to the second round. My Final Four is North Carolina UCLA Kansas St. and Texas.
Speaking of watching sports, this may be the best time of the year. I am a fan of all sports and love watching the NBA playoffs, the beginning of baseball season, and the Penguins as they go through the NHL playoffs.
Bought this new laptop last Thursday and the letter T has already fallen off. Taking it to Best Buy tomorrow where I bought it to see if they can fix it. It is a Sony VAIO and I am very impressed with it's performance.

Baseball
Well its a week or so till the start of the baseball season and I am pumped up. I'm a life long Pirate fan but have been so discouraged by what is going on with them that I have been looking around for someone else to root for. The leading candidate is the New York Yankees. There is always a lot of excitement around them. I have to admit that I got caught up in the hype surrounding Joba Chamberlain.
Also happening here in PA where I live is the upcoming Primary. I think I would like to vote for "none of the above" but I don't think that will be an option.
Gotta go and watch the best hockey team in the country, The Pittsburgh Penguins.
